Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July week/weekend!
I don’t know about all of you, but I am so thankful to be back to a normal week. We spent most of last week visiting my Mom and playing outside like it was our job! It’s safe to say, I am exhausted haha.
I was hoping to have more exciting news to report this week since we put in an offer on a home 2 weeks ago. We had no intentions of moving but we love perusing Zillow off and on just to see what is available in our area. We found a beautiful home that we thought could be perfect for us and we started praying that God would block it or bless it. When I tell you that He blocked it, I mean he BLOCKED it! We have never experienced such a horrific offer process (and we have bought, sold, and made a lot of offers in the last few years). We have the most wonderful agent and even she was floored by the way the sellers agent handled our offer.
Normally, I wouldn’t voice my concerns on a public platform because I like keeping things happy and lighthearted in my little corner of the internet. I am also not here to play judge/jury for anyone because I am far from perfect. However, I would like to say that if you are in the home buying or selling process, please make sure that your agent has your best interest at heart. It was abundantly clear that the sellers agent was looking out for herself over everyone and she made a relatively simple process something that cost her sellers money in the end. In an act of pure desperation, she killed any offer that didn’t come from the client that she brought to the table because she wanted both commissions. This agent is the reason that real estate agents get a bad reputation and I am beyond thankful for our wonderful agent, and friend, that made sure we were represented to the best of her ability in a losing situation.
Don’t worry, I am stepping off of my soapbox now haha! I know that God has a bigger plan and I fully trust in what He has in store for our future. Like the old song says, “some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers.”
Praying that all of you have a happy and blessed week!
