Our little rover turned one on 9/21/21 and we had the best time celebrating him with family and friends this weekend. Much of my party inspiration came from Emily Hertz with Born on Fifth but I put the Lawrence spin on it to make things match our style. You know when you meet someone and you think “wow, I want to be friends with this person in real life!” Well that is exactly how I felt about Mary Virginia with Celebrate Birmingham. Not only is she a genius with balloons and styling but she is such a kind and beautiful person. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to chat with her while she installed the balloon arch and she went above and beyond by bringing me balloons the day of the party so that the helium would last longer. Speaking of elevation, the glow letters from Alphalit Tuscaloosa were the perfect center piece for our balloon arch! The Alphalit team was incredible to work with and they made ordering and install a breeze. We were able to keep the letters throughout the weekend so that our little one could enjoy them and I could snap some extra pictures! I highly recommend adding glow letters to your next even for that “little something extra” but make sure you book in advance because these guys are crazy busy! If only you could taste a picture! Cakes by Alethea did an amazing job on Gabe’s cake and smash cake. The smash cake was so beautiful that I almost hated to let him destroy it! The best part was that the bottom tier of his birthday cake was almond with mixed berry filling while the top tier was chocolate with chocolate ganache filling. I love a cake with options (especially since my husband is a vanilla person and I am 100% about the chocolate life). Alethea is so sweet and actually re-iced the cake 3 times to make sure it was up to her standards. Doesn’t everyone have a graze box that spells out their name on their birthday? This might have been a little bit over the top but it was beautiful, delicious, and a huge hit!! I wish that we all could see the world with the wonder and amazement of a child! Planning and orchestrating this birthday party for our little man was such a joy and I would do anything to put a smile on his face. I pray that he always maintains the love and joy that he has for everyone and each new day. God has big plans for you, little love!
